Standard Quality Features

Strong, Heavy Duty Light Weight Design

All Utility flatbeds are stress engineered. That is, designed to absorb and distribute stress, not resist it. The secret is using a unique balance of high strength yet light weight materials, including several different grades of hi-tensile grades of steel, resulting in the lowest possible tare weight without compromising strength or durability.

2000A Aluminum/Steel Flatbeds

2000S All Steel Flatbeds

The new highest strength, lowest tare weight, flatbed trailer we have ever produced.

Quality crafted from a blend of high strength aluminum deck and floor components supported by a high-tensile steel superstructure. Lower tare weight, means increased payload and increased profits. Higher strength for greater durability and lowered maintenance costs.

The 2000A features a beam capacity rating of 80,000lbs. evenly distributed, up to 60,000lbs. concentrated over ten feet, and as much as 57,000 Ibs. single coil capacity in the center.*

The 2000S center-frame flatbed designed for heavy-duty use.

Utility's high strength-to-weight ratio engineering yields a beam capacity rating of 80,000 Ibs. evenly distributed, up to 60,000lbs. concentrated over ten feet, and as much as 57,000lbs single coil capacity in the center*.

The 2000S is the finest all steel flatbed available today. The new heavy-duty durable rear corner design features thick rear corner impact plates to protect against dock damage. The 2000S also features a tapered front approach plate and spreader cross-members between the main beams at every outrigger.

* Load capacities and ratings are based on trailer wheelbase. Specifications are subject to change without notice.

Drop Deck Flatbeds

Wide Frame Flatbeds

The drop deck model flatbeds from Utility are specifically designed for hauling heavy or awkward loads.

This heavy-duty, light weight, dual-axle, drop frame flatbed features a main beam with a large radius in the drop area to allow stress to flow through the entire structure.

Additional strength comes from our unique one-piece continuous bottom flange and from full 1/4" thick diamond pattern wheel plates and a full 3/16" thick buck-plate.

Utility's wide frame flatbeds are strong, reliable and yet light weight. Wide frame trailers are available with beam capacities ranging from 62,000 to 80,000 pounds.

The Utility wide frame offers superior performance for high center of gravity loads such as finished lumber and many agricultural commodities.

Adding our heavy duty option to the standard model allows the trailer to perform in the highest range of payload capacities while still retaining a light tare weight.

Flatbed Doubles

Utility is the undisputed industry leader in the manufacturing of flatbed doubles.

Built for added versatility, especially agriculture, Utility's flatbed doubles are available in both center and wide frame models, both feature a beam rating of 30,000lbs. distributed load capacity.

The pull trailer also features a precision ball bearing large diameter turntable, and of course, all feature Utility's famed high strength-to-weight ratio.

New Modular Internally Grounded Electrical System

A new, carefully tested, completely weather proof internally grounded wiring harness has been developed for the 2000A and 2000S models, reducing downtime and maintenance.

All Utility flatbed models feature a modular electrical system throughout with 100% plug-in connectors.

New Paint and Finishing Process Inside And Out.

Before

After

For greater protection against rust and corrosion Utility shot blasts all exterior steel surfaces to remove industrial oils and mill residues prior to applying a two part primer and Urethane top coat for a long lasting rich finish. All interior surfaces, between main beams, including the upper coupler assembly and cross-members are coated with a new self-healing rust preventative coating for longer life and lower life cycle costs. Utility's new paint and finishing process meets and exceeds all Federal Environmental Standards.

Camber Shaped Main Beam

Quality, Durable Floors

The cambered shape of the main beam is computerized and plasma cut directly into the web, minimizing stress and maximizing the life of the trailer.

When loaded, the trailer maintains more of its original shape.

All Utility hardwood floor planks are ship-lapped, for a tightly fitted floor that minimizes moisture penetration.

Shrinking and gaps are further minimized by using carefully selected hardwoods with a precisely specified moisture content. Planks are secured by two screws per plank per cross-member, and three at the end joints.
